The BMW Australian Under 20s rugby squad will be looking to even the ledger with the New Zealand squad when the two teams go head-to-head this Saturday afternoon in their Oceania series at Bond University.
Australia will be looking for a much improved effort on Saturday after going down 30-10 in their opening match on Tuesday night.
Australian Coach Adrian Thompson said he was disappointed with the team’s performance on Tuesday and has urged his side to improve around the park.
“The lads have regrouped and worked hard at training but we need to translate that to a committed match performance on Saturday night,” he said.
The Australian team have been eating, training and sleeping at Bond University’s world class sporting facilities since 26 April ahead of their Championship matches.
Last week Wallabies scrum coach Mario Ledesma came to campus to give the national U20s side some scrummaging lessons, and stayed back to offer the Bond University rugby club players an hour-long masterclass.
Bond University Rugby player Josh Taylor will again take the field this Saturday for Australia.
The BMW Australia U20s play New Zealand at the Bond University rugby fields from 4pm AEST on Saturday 7 May.
